It's Never Too Late or Too Early to Get Healthy and Live Life Again.
We Start with You
Your needs come first. We understand that exercise should be about putting you back on top of your game. In order to do that, you need exercise sessions that work for you and increase energy naturally. That's why we tailor each session to your physiology, giving you the best results in less time.
We Show You What Works
We make getting healthy simple by showing you how your body responds to changes in your day and in your exercise program, so we can do more of what's working, and less of what isn't.
Turn the Tables on Parkinson's Disease
Your program isn't focused on generic goals. We match your personal level of fitness with each exercise session you do, delivering a program that maximizes your health and vitality. The end result is a body that works like it is years younger.
You Are Unique. Your Exercise Program Should Be, Too.
That's why the Cycles Exercise® Program was created. Exercise for People With Parkinson's has been shown to have lots of positive effects, like maintaining muscle strength, improving mobility, protecting dopamine-producing nerve cells lost in Parkinson's, and even slowing the progression of the disease. But not all exercise is created equal.
We're here to make sure you're doing exercises that are tailored to your needs and body. That's why the LifeWaves® Program delivers the absolute best results.
The Cycles Exercise® Program consists of bursts of exercise followed by immediate recovery. You actually sit down and train your body to recover! You receive specific heart rate targets for each exercise burst, all according to who you are and what you need. In every Cycles Exercise® session, you record your heart rate with a Polar heart rate monitor. That information is uploaded to us so that we can track your patterns over time to craft your program just for your needs.
LifeWaves® Clients Stan and Roz Smith Share Their Life-Changing Journey With Parkinson's and Exercise.
Waving Goodbye to Parkinson's Disease: A Journey of Hope
W. Stanton (Stan) Smith, a successful principal in a global professional services firm, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s around his 51st birthday. In a high pressure business atmosphere, he struggled with Parkinson’s Disease (PD) for six years. He was in a losing battle. He and his wife, Roz, moved to the Greenville, SC area with the expectation of going on disability, but life changed. He began the LifeWaves® Cycles Exercise® Program, and took control of his health. Today, Stan is a specialist in intergenerational communications in the workplace and is a key member, along with his wife, of the Parkinson's Support Group of Upstate. In this book, Stan and Roz share what they’ve learned about coping with PD. Roz gives the unique perspective of being a Care Partner (CP) while Stan is candid about his struggles to come to grips with the disease and get his life back. He shares what he has learned by doing the LifeWaves® Cycles Exercise® Program, and provides some easy to remember pointers on how to deal with people’s reactions to you, and how to approach life more positively as a Person With Parkinson’s (PWP).
